LENT Sermon Series: The Week that Changed Everything

LENT Sermon Series: The Week that Changed Everything

Holy Week is the story of the last week of Jesus’ ministry leading up to his crucifixion. It occupies just seven days of the story, and seven days of the life of the church. But read the Gospels and you will notice that it takes up a HUGE amount of the text. In the Gospel of Mark, more than one-third of the story (6 out of 16 chapters) focuses explicitly on Holy Week. Obviously, according to the authors of the New Testament, it is hugely important. Join us at Timberlake during Lent as we follow Jesus as he makes his way into Jerusalem, to teach and to preach and to prepare to sacrifice himself for the salvation of the world.

Events Happening Throughout the Month

Lent Spotify Music Playlist

Lent Spotify Music Playlist

As we journey through this season of Lent, our pastors and worship leaders have curated a special playlist to help you reflect, pray, and worship. We invite you to listen and draw closer to God during this sacred time.

Easter Photobooth

Easter Photobooth

Stop by our Easter Photo Booth before or after worship beginning March 15th! This is a great opportunity to capture a meaningful family photo as we celebrate the hope and joy of Easter together. Whether it becomes part of your home, a keepsake for loved ones, or a reminder of this season, we hope it helps you remember what God is doing in your family and at Timberlake.
Your photo can also be a simple and personal way to invite others. Share it on social media, tag your friends and family, and let them know there is a place for them here as we celebrate Easter together.

TreeHouse Kids - Easter Egg Donation

TreeHouse Kids - Easter Egg Donation

This year, we’re asking each family to donate at least 24 plastic Easter eggs, pre-filled for our Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Please fill each egg with candy (no peanuts, please) or a small trinket, tape the eggs closed, and take a moment to pray over them before returning them.

Eggs can be dropped off with the TreeHouse Kids Team by March 22.

Thank you for helping us create a joyful and meaningful Easter celebration for our children.

Your Kids Will Have a Blast!

This Easter, we invite your children to join us for a special worship experience with TreeHouse Kids! They’ll enjoy an interactive, age-specific message filled with fun, Christ-centered crafts and activities—all while learning the true meaning of Easter.

At the end of each service, kids can join our Easter Egg Hunt on the front lawn, which will be fenced off for a safe and exciting experience.

We understand the importance of food allergies, so we’ve got you covered! If your child receives candy they can’t enjoy, they can swap their bag for a non-candy bag at our Easter trading station.

We can’t wait to celebrate and worship with your family this Easter!

Reading Plan - The Stations of The Cross

The Stations of the Cross is a series of 14 moments in the Bible which depicts Jesus on his journey to the crucifixion. The Stations have been rendered in art, such as stained glass, in music, and here for our purposes, as a series of Bible readings and prayers designed to help us contemplate our Lord’s suffering and sacrifice.

Read and meditate on the Stations below at your own pace. Let the Bible story take you on a spiritual pilgrimage with Jesus as you encounter his passion and go with him to the cross.

Jesus prayed in the garden alone, knowing that his death was about to take place and knowing that his beloved disciples would abandon him in his most dire need.
--Prayer: Lord Jesus, forgive me for the times when in my selfishness I have abandoned you.

Despite having had compassion on so many, Jesus is betrayed, even by those closest to him.
--Lord Jesus, so many times we have left behind all that you taught and have neglected our duty to love others as you have loved us. Forgive us.

When he was tried, instead of an angry defense, Jesus forgave those who condemned him.
--Lord Jesus, teach us how to be humble and forgiving, and how to love others so completely.

Jesus was not guilty, yet he was being accused and tried by liars and deceivers.
--Lord Jesus, judge us not by our merits but by the righteousness of your own life and death.

After being beaten, Jesus was unjustly condemned by Pilate.
--Lord Jesus, it was our sins that condemned you to the cross. Forgive us. In your mercy restore us to right relationship with the Father, calling us back to you once again.

The soldiers mock Jesus by placing a crown of thorns on his head.
--Lord Jesus, open my eyes so that I don’t lose sight of the suffering of others.

Jesus, in carrying his cross, bore the burden of the sin of the entire world.
--Lord Jesus, thank you for carrying your cross on my behalf.

Perhaps fearing Jesus would die before he was crucified, the soldiers made Simon of Cyrene carry the cross.
--Lord Jesus, give me strength to carry my own cross, even as Simon did for you.

Jesus said, “Do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.”
--Lord Jesus, make us unselfish, even as you were to the last.

Jesus offered the sacrifice of his life for our salvation.
--Lord Jesus, our words cannot fully capture the depth of your suffering for us.

One criminal criticized Jesus, the other begged for his mercy.
--Lord Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.

Jesus gave his mother over to the care of his friend John, and John to his mother, thereby establishing a community of relationships stronger even than bonds of family.
--Lord Jesus, create in us this same kind of self-giving community.

Jesus said, “It is finished.” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
--Lord Jesus, make us as willing to die for what we believe as you were.

Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus wrapped the body in linen and aloes and laid it in the tomb.
Lord Jesus, kindle in us the flicker of a flame that is not overcome by the darkness.
