2025 SERMON SERIES

Timberlake has some great sermons - take a look at the 2025 series below!

Following Jesus is an adventure!  It’s full of ups and downs, meeting new people, having new experiences, and overcoming hardship.  Discipleship is anything but boring.  Join us in the weeks following Easter Sunday as we explore the adventure of discipleship in the gospel of Matthew.  Along the way we will share in the captivating documentary, Beyond the Tree Line, featuring Timberlake’s own Sutton family who hiked the Appalachian Trail, including four year old Harvey.  Let’s go!

In our world of endless food options, from grocery delivery to fast food, from breakfast to midnight snacks, and the illnesses and dis-ease we suffer as a result, the idea of fasting seems out of step and even radical.  Maybe that’s a good thing.  Fasting is one of the most important spiritual disciplines found in the Bible, and yet it also happens to be one of the most neglected in today’s church.  Giving up food or other things is a means of grace God uses to help us trust in the Spirit, care for the poor, and become more like Jesus.  Join us during Lent as will consider the Biblical witness about fasting, and learn to practice it for ourselves.

We live in a world where love can feel conditional—something we have to earn, something that can be taken away. But that’s not how God’s love works. First John reminds us that God’s love is relentless, unshakable, and completely independent of anything we do. Over three weeks, we’ll dive into 1 John 3 and 4, exploring what it means to be called children of God, how His love was revealed through Jesus, and what it looks like to truly abide in that love. So many people think they have to clean themselves up before coming to God—get their life together, fix their mistakes, be "good enough." But the truth is, God welcomes you exactly as you are. His love for you has never been about what you bring to the table—it’s about who He is. And once you realize that, it changes everything.

In our Roots to Fruit sermon series we’ll explore how God is establishing roots of faith and bearing fruit in our ministry. Through the Scripture, through stories of our congregation’s history, and through a vision for a bright future, we will discover how our strong foundation propels us into the next season of life together. Join us for the mission!

One of the best ways to gain clarity about where you’re headed is by reflecting on where you’ve been. Timberlake has been blessed with decades of fruitful ministry, guided by the Holy Spirit to make a lasting impact in our community. As we prepare for what’s next, it’s vital to first remember the “why” that fuels our vision. Grounded in Biblical Wesleyan values of grace and hospitality, we are called to REACH more people, inviting them into a life-changing relationship with Jesus, and to REACH up to God in worship.

One of the greatest blessings we have as humans is our technology.  Where would we be without microwaves, GPS, air conditioning, and smartphones?  Technology makes our lives easier, more pleasant, and more productive.  Until it doesn’t.  This great blessing has also become a curse.  The misuse of technology has the power to distract us, fool us, and even ruin relationships and destroy lives.  The Bible shows us a better way, a way that allows us to put technology in its proper place, a way that leads to a life of wisdom and health.
