Lead Director
Christina Tilley
As Lead Director of the Child Development Center, Christina works with each age group’s leaders, teachers, and children. In addition, she works collaboratively with the other program directors to ensure the health, safety, and quality of care for all children that attend. Christina recruits and hires staff as needed throughout the year and searches for professional development opportunities. They plan and implement special events, fundraisers, and activities across programs as a team. In her free time, Christina enjoys spending time with family and friends. In addition, she enjoys going to festivals around Lynchburg and neighboring cities. Trail walks and bonfires are a few of our family favorites.

Libbie Doss
Libbie is a Lynchburg area native who graduated from LC and taught kindergarten. After leaving her teaching career, she built a local business, Timbered Touch. She pursued her dream while also working for VA Tech and Ohio State (Food For a Long Life) focusing on children and families. Libbie and her husband, Cord, have a son and a daughter who also attend Timberlake's CDC. Libbie’s love for teaching, leading, and church come to life at Timberlake!

Sonya Jensen
Sonya grew up in Bedford and made her home here in Campbell County. She and her husband Joe have a son Nick, Daughter-in-law Molly, and two grandchildren. Sonya has worked for the YMCA for 17 years as a childcare director. Much of her life has been dedicated to caring for children, which led her to Timberlake Child Development Center. In her free time, Sonya enjoys spending time with family and friends. In addition, she loves photography, arts, crafts, and outdoor activities in nature.

Beth White
Beth grew up in Lynchburg, but has called Campbell County her home. She worked as an Instructional Assistant for the past 7 years and recently graduated from LU with a bachelors in education. She is pursuing a masters degree from LU. Beth, her husband Bert, and their daughters are members of Timberlake. Beth’s love of children and teaching has brought her to Timberlake’s CDC. When she’s not studying, Beth likes to play golf, watch UVA sports, and watch her girls in their athletic adventures. Beth’s favorite verse is Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”

Madison Beach
Madison grew up in California but moved to Lynchburg in 2020 to attend Liberty University. She enjoys cooking, photography, and going out for ice cream with her husband. Madison has worked at Thomas Road's Camp Hydaway for several summers as first a camp counselor and most recently a camp director. Her favorite Bible story is the story of Mary Magdalene. She loves teaching children about Jesus and who he created them to be!

Before Timberlake, Susan spent the previous twenty years at Campbell Co Schools . While working at Timberlake, she knows there is a special sense of purpose. Her favorite books are Chasing God by Angie Smith, A Heart Like His and Feathers from My Nest by Beth Moore. In her spare time, Susan enjoys cooking, traveling, and seeing new places. She also enjoys football, especially Virginia Tech.

Beth Francis
Beth loves being a part of the daily ministry and life of Timberlake and the CDC. She grew up in Amherst County and graduated from Lynchburg College and worked as a CPA in Richmond and in Lynchburg before coming to Timberlake.
Beth's favorite books are The Shack by William Young, The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein, and Kitchen House by Kathleen Grissom. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Tony, and their children, Elizabeth and Spence (both are young adults), and their pug dog, Ranger.

Rebecca and her husband have been married for over 35 years and have 4 sons. They are blessed to also have 4 daughters-in-love, 3 granddaughters, and 2 grandsons. Rebecca joined us in 2014 and has worked in many areas of our program including a floating aide, before school care, infant care, 2-year-old teacher, and is now as Welcome Desk Attendant. In her spare time, she LOVES to be with her family, but especially her granddaughters. She also loves being outdoors, hiking, and helping others in need. Lauren is originally from Houston, Texas and moved to Lynchburg in 2017 to study at Liberty University. She is currently working on her masters in clinical mental health counseling and is set to graduate in fall of 2023. Lauren enjoys cooking, listening to vinyl’s, and spending time with friends in her free time. Her favorite Bible verse is Lamentations 3:22-23 “Because of the Lords great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Natalie was born and raised in Michigan. She moved to Virginia with her husband and daughter at Christmas time in 2018. She has three children, two sons and a daughter. Natalie holds a BS in Business Administration and a BS in Elementary Education with a minor in early childhood education. She has worn many hats over the years - a bookkeeper, a biller, a substitute
elementary teacher, a children's ministries director, and a lead infant/toddler teacher. The most important and also her favorite role is
being a mom. In her spare time, Natalie enjoys reading, traveling, gardening, hiking, baking, and jigsaw puzzles. Natalie's favorite Bible verse is Psalm 46:10, "Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!"

Caleigh was born and raised in Coleman Falls, Virginia. She has been a lifeguard at Eagle Eyrie Baptist Conference Center since 2018 and is certified in CPR, First Aid, and AED. Caleigh graduated from Brookville High School in 2021, and is currently attending University of Lynchburg, and is studying sociology and marketing. In her free time, Caleigh is often working rodeos for True Grit Rodeo Company, hanging out with family and friends, or playing with her dog Moo. “Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Hannah Hudson
Hannah has worked with children from a young age. She has two younger brothers, the youngest one being 11 years younger, adopted from China with special needs. She is close with her family, especially her littlest brother. Hannah married the love of her life in December 2021. They enjoy working on his grandparent’s farm, hiking in the mountains, and playing card games at night. Hannah has been to China 4 times, working with orphans that have special needs. She also enjoys watching basketball, reading, and shopping. Her favorite Bible verse is amess1:2-4.

Mary loves the passion and unity among the teachers and children at Timberlake. She grew up in Maryland and became a medical researcher in Las Vegas. Mary's son has been the most important impact in her life by reminding her about the strength and courage that she has when times are tough. She enjoys seafood, gardening and grooming flowers. When she makes mistakes, she knows to acknowledge them and learn from them. Being a mom is the most important thing that makes her excited and alive!

Julie grew up in Indiana, and moved to Missouri to attend college, where she met her husband and earned a Bachelor of Science degree. Julie and
her family lived in Sydney, Australia as missionaries before moving to Anaheim, CA, where she worked as the Children's Ministries Director, taught kindergarten, and taught grade school. She and her family then moved to Lynchburg where she began early childhood teaching in 2001. She enjoys spending time with family and reading - especially the Epistles of Paul, as he is an inspiration to her.

Marina grew up in Nelson County and moved to Lynchburg in 2011. She attended college and is certified in Sign Language. She has a daughter and a playful dog. Destiny grew up in Rustburg Virginia where she attended Rustburg High School. She began playing football at the age of 6 and continued until she ended her career with a state championship title. Destiny attends the University of Lynchburg where she studies elementary education. She enjoys drawing, shopping, and watching Netflix in her spare time. Destiny’s favorite Bible verse is Psalm 23:4; “ Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.” Destiny says this is her favorite verse because it has helped her through the toughest times in life.

Guili was originally born in Orlando, FL but grew up in Lynchburg. She has always loved working with children and has dreamed of being a teacher her whole life. She loves spending time with her family and friends. Guili is currently studying Elementary Education at Liberty University. Her favorite Bible verse is 2 Corinthians 3:18 because it talks about being transformed into Jesus’ image. That is her main goal in teaching children. Transform them into the image of God.

Carson was born in Lynchburg. At age 5, she moved to Washington State for 4 years and then moved back to Lynchburg. She loves her mom's cooking and people who are kind. Carson loves how nice the staff is at Timberlake and working with the children and families at the CDC. She loves to travel, eat good food, and spend time with her family. She also likes to relax by binge-watching TV shows.

Tara Evelyn
Tara graduated from Liberty University in May 2021 with a degree in instrumental music. She has experience teaching preschool, music lessons, and preschool music classes. When she isn’t teaching, Tara enjoys swing dancing, playing board games, and reading. Her favorite authors include C.S. Lewis, Douglas Adams, and J.R.R. Tolkien. One of Tara’s favorite parts of the Bible is the story of Christ’s resurrection. It is such a hopeful thing to know that Christ has risen from the dead, trampled down by death, and has bestowed life on us!

Megan grew up in the Lynchburg area and graduated from LCA in 2003. She is a mom to four boys who keep her running and happy. She is currently finishing her Bachelors of Education degree online at Liberty University. Megan was previously a substitute teacher in Campbell County where she worked with a large amount of children and grade levels. She left her role as a substitute teacher to take on a more permanent role in the pre-k setting here at Timberlake.

Karen married and moved to Lynchburg in 1993. She and her hubby Lou, have three grown sons. She has worked with adults with physical and mental challenges and taught preschool. She stayed at home with her boys and returned to work when her youngest was in middle school. Karen taught at a local Day School and was Children’s Ministry Director for 5 years. Karen and Lou attend Timberlake and participate in Life Groups. Karen enjoys reading, taking vacations with Lou and loves family time. When her kids are at home and around the table she is happiest.

My middle (Noah) attends Nursing school at ETSU and my youngest (Lauren) attends JF. Brenda Wilkerson was blessed to be brought up in a Christian home with loving parents. She accepted Christ at a young age and is thankful to call Him her Lord and Savior. Early in her life, God placed it in my heart, to work with children. God gave her a career of 33 years as a public-school teacher and has granted her the privilege of working with the children at Timberlake.

Grace grew up locally in the Lynchburg area with her 3 older siblings and 3 beloved dogs. He majored in Elementary Education and minored in English in 2017 and received his masters in Educational Leadership PK-12 in 2019. Courtney grew up homeschooled in Illinois in a family with ten kids. She started volunteering at her church at eight years old. She has loved children throughout her life and she has been a babysitter, nanny and school bus driver. To relieve stress, Courtney likes to take walks in the woods while talking to God and admiring his handiwork and drawing and journaling. Her favorite Bible verse is Psalm 23. It was her first verse that she memorized and it has brought her comfort through hard times.
