1 Corinthians 1:30
30 He is the source of life in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.
Reflection: Question #28

Question: What benefits do those who genuinely believe partake of in this life?
Answer: They partake of justification, sanctification, and the several benefits in this life that either accompany or flow from them.
I have long been a fan of Costco. When I lived in Greensboro, NC (2005-2014 or so) Kelly and I would go every Saturday with the kids. We would eat a cheap lunch out (less than $10 would feed our three little ones and Kelly and I), try a bunch of samples, and buy our weekly groceries. Super clean stores. Very good prices. Great house brand (Kirkland’s). I would advocate with my friends who were not sold on Costco that if they merely buy a gallon of milk a week, that purchase alone would pay for their membership in savings. It has been a decade since I was a Costco member. Now I am a fan of Sam’s Club… perhaps not AS good as Costco, but I have made my membership back 100 times… just in pharmaceuticals and gasoline. The perks are ridiculously good. No brainer. Count me in on the Sam’s Club fan page!
The perks and benefits of Costco and Sam’s Club are hard to deny. They are obvious. I am pretty passionate about it. I think of the benefits of these memberships as I read the question, “what are the benefits” to believers? They are profound. Clear. No brainer. Win, win. What is the downside for believers to give their lives to Christ? There really are none, if one accounts for eternity. In Christ we are justified (forgiven our transgressions), sanctified (we are made holy) and redeemed (freed from the bondage and penalty of sin). All these words have a slightly different underlying reality in our lives and they are all ground-breakingly wonderful. We get no discounts, photo ID, or break on gasoline, but the benefits to life in Christ are profound.
Prayer
Lord, thank you for the benefits we have in you, that we are redeemed, forgiven, a made holy in you. Our salvation from sin is made complete because of your death on the cross!
