John 10:27, 28

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.

Reflection: God’s Voice, Part 1

Written By: Pastor Jesse Caro

The other day a dear friend of mine got a text from someone they knew… a congratulatory text of some sort. It was an upbeat and good text full of congratulations and praise. But it was clear to this person and me that the text (well meaning as it may have been) was AI (Artificial intelligence) generated. My friend recognized it as AI generated and was still grateful for the text. Yet clearly it is not the same as receiving an “original” text from someone. What a day in which we live that one’s texts can be generated by a computer! Let me be very clear, for the record: I will never submit an AI generated Rooted Devotional (LOL).

I was thinking about the notion of how God speaks and this idea of AI! Here is the thing: when God speaks, he actually speaks. When God speaks to you, he means what he says, uniquely to you. He is not relying on something else. It is unique for you. Crafted and designed for you. God is never impersonal, and he never speaks in general terms. And I am glad of that! God loves me and speaks to me in a very personal, unique, and wonderful way. There is nothing Artificial about how God interacts with his children. Praise God!

Prayer

Lord, thank you for speaking to your children as individuals. Help us to hear your voice!
