John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Reflection: Best News Ever
Written By: Pastor Jesse Caro

We got good news as a family the other day. For Kelly and me it was a matter of prayer ( a situation we were in), and the Lord answered our prayers very graciously. It was good and welcome news. We called a few people that knew about our prayer request and told them the good news. Told our parents and our children. It was a day of rejoicing and giving God a lot of praise. God is good. The news was good. We couldn’t wait to share the news with those who had prayed with us.
There is a song by Mercy Me called “Best News Ever” (notice the official lyric video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=acbcKrnnJAk).  I love this song. It describes a mindset that we can (and must) earn favor from God: “hope that your good is good enough. Head down, keep on working. If you can earn it, you deserve it!” That is the mindset of those who don’t come to Christ. They try to earn eternal life on their own. Then the chorus of this song says: What if I were the one to tell you
That the fight's already been won?
Well, I think your day's about to get better!!!!!!!!!!
What if I were the one to tell you
That the work's already been done?
It's now a good news…
It's the best news ever

Indeed, it isn’t merely Good News. It is the BEST NEWS EVER. I have a relationship with God because of what he did for me, not what I earned from him. Hallelujah! Is that not the greatest news? Now… go share that news with someone!!!!

Prayer
Dear God, thank you for the best news ever… that you would come down to die for us, in order to pay the price that we could never earn!
