Psalm 139:7
Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?

Reflection: Sermon Thoughts: Part 1, Omnipresence!
Written By: Pastor Jesse Caro

God created the world and immediately created Adam and Eve. And He walked in the Garden with them. Then… the fall. The presence of God was withheld from humanity. That is, of course, until the Tabernacle was erected in the Wilderness. The Tabernacle was called the Place of Meeting. Why? Because God wanted to have a relationship with us. He wanted to be present to us. But this was limited to the High Priest, and only on the Day of Atonement. This was the case with the Temple when it was constructed as a permanent location in Jerusalem. And Christ showed definitively when Christ became a man, took on flesh, and died for us. Why? Relationship.
As Pastor Brad concluded the series this week on technology, we were reminded that God wants to have relationship. His attribute of omnipresence (present everywhere at once) ensures that He can have a real, vibrant, wonderful, and present relationship with us (all of us) anytime. “How can I flee His presence” the Psalmist asks! Wherever we go, He is there. Not in order to be a pest, or a cosmic killjoy! Not at all! He is pursuing us such that he is present to us. Perhaps our technology limits our capacity to enjoy him! Perhaps technology has become too great a distraction! Perhaps we should re-evaluate how central a role these little gadgets play roles in our lives!

Prayer
Lord, continue to draw near to us. Be real to us today. Breakthrough our addictions to our gadgets and reawaken in us a desire to walk closely to you.
