Hebrews 11:6
6 Without faith it is impossible to please God.

Reflection: Roots to Fruit Friday: Faith
Written By: Pastor Jesse Caro

Our Roots to Fruit capital campaign is afoot. I am excited about what God is doing here at Timberlake Church, and I know that God has a good and beautiful plan for us. It will require all of us to be involved, to believe in the vision, and to be invested. God wants to accomplish something through this church, but it will not fall on our noses and start to wiggle. God is not going to, by the divine work of the Spirit of God, hack our church’s bank accounts and add funds in a way that would be considered a modern-day miracle. God will likely not, in the middle of the night and away from the noticing eyes of people on Timberlake Road, begin pouring a foundation, laying bricks, installing electrical wires, and shingling the roof such that one morning buildings are built. That would be wonderful and miraculous. It would be easy and hassle free. It would be without controversy. And it would lack faith!!!!!
The key component in the Christian life is faith. Without faith it is impossible to please God. They just shall live by faith! Faith is the centerpiece of our life in Christ. We trust him. That is THE DIFFERENCE between a solid Christian and a nominal “believer.” The strong Christian has learned to trust God with more and more of their life. The nominal Christian professes to trust and love God, but, in fact, they don’t really trust God. If God is going to honor this church, he will honor our faith. Faith will be the component that God looks at and says, “I want to bless Timberlake Church in a manner consistent with their faith!” That is what I sincerely believe. The capital campaign is built on this proposition: we must trust God with our finances to use our funds (sacrificially given in faith) to expand the work of God in Lynchburg. He wants to use Timberlake… and faith is the doorway to his blessing.

Prayer
Lord, may we learn to trust you and live in faith, especially in our finances. Bless Timberlake Church as we endeavor to expand the Kingdom of God, for your glory, in Lynchburg.
