Preschool Graduation

Dear Timberlake Sisters and Brothers,

Blessings to you in the name of Jesus Christ the Lord.

I want to tell you about our Early Learning Center graduation last week.  On Wednesday evening, a few dozen children marked the end of their preschool education at our Timberlake Child Development Center with diplomas and photos and smiles, and lots of cheering from proud parents and grandparents.

We celebrated by sharing the children’s dreams for who they want to become when they grow up.  There were doctors, scientists, teachers, police officers, and artists.  The hardest job: one child said he wanted to be a night-shift worker!  Wow.

My favorite was one young girl who answered the question, “What do you want to be when you grow up…?”  “Myself!”  We should all be so blessed!  I am reminded of the letter to the Ephesians, in which Paul urges us to “live a life worthy of the calling you have received” (Eph 4:1).  Having just finished our series on the undivided life, I am hopeful that we are truly becoming ourselves, and that our best selves are becoming more like Jesus.

I am so grateful for our CDC directors and staff who love these children so beautifully in the name of Jesus.  This is a special year as it marks the graduation of the first class of Avonlea’s Angels babies who have progressed through our program.

Here’s to endings and beginnings.

With glory to God,

Pastor Brad
